1959 Technician in Training Re-union

This event has now come and gone. A job well done by Les Thompson and Noel Grant.
The venue was great, and it was a delight to see so many faces I hadn't seen for the best part of 40 years. Many an old story was re-run, and it made me feel good to see that I was the only one that hadn't got any older.

Dear 59er,
This event has been 40 years in the making. It is a ‘one off’ that will not be repeated, so you can’t afford to miss it. Noel Grant and Les Thompson, both trainees in Ballarat have been plotting this event for about a year. We have contacted about 70 former trainees from the schools at Ballarat, Prahran, Grong Grong, Flinders St and Lester St.& Batman St. If you know anyone we may not have found, please send them a copy of this letter.

The Venue
The Manningham (Club) Convention Centre, 1 Thompsons Rd. Bulleen.
Melway Ref. 32 D10 (Older directories show it as either "Raffles on the Park" or "Sentimental Bloke").

When
7pm to 11pm on Saturday 26th. June 1999

Cost
$60 which includes Hors D’oeuvres on arrival, Buffet Meal, Red and White Wine, Heavy and Light Beer, Soft Drink and Champagne. A special 40yr commemorative memento of the occasion has also been arranged.

Accommodation
A motel is located in the complex for anyone wishing to stay the night.

Partners
We have not planned this as an event for partners for fear of them being bored, however we cannot exclude partners who wish to attend.

Closing Date
Because of commitments we have made with the Venue, we must have your firm booking and payment by Monday 3rd. May 1999

If you have any items of memorabilia, photographs, books, blazer etc. please bring them along. We have group photos from all six schools of 586 fresh faced teenagers. Hope you can help put names to some of them.
